Collaboration is an indispensable link for Brandenburch. Internal but most certainly also external collaboration. Without that, we have no right of existence. Fortunately, we are not alone in that belief. Brandenburch has been working with Animeal Factory for many years, each with our own expertise. Together, we achieve the best end-product and end-customer satisfaction.
Cooperation is key at Brandenburch; a good understanding of our customers is vital. In October 2020, after years of working in the transport sector, among others, Fred Wijnen from Someren decided to make a career change and took over Animeal Factory. He now supplies most of his products – mainly fish food – to the Dutch and German markets. He buys some 80% of those products from Brandenburch. And with good reason
Fish can be fussy…
Animeal Factory specialises in packaging and transporting fish feed. Particularly intended for fish in outdoor ponds, the range of fish feed is very diverse: from floating sticks in different colours and sizes, to vegetable protein-rich pellet food. Perhaps not something you might initially consider, but fish feed must meet several important requirements. These range from nutritional value, to weight, colour and taste. Fish can be fussy eaters…
Fred says: ‘Brandenburch produces customised fish feed especially for Animeal Factory. This meets exactly the requirements I set. For example, it is important that the feed floats for some time to attract the fish to the surface. That’s what you want, a similar effect as when you give a dog a treat.’
Brandenburch is there for us
The collaboration between Animeal Factory and Brandenburch is more than just a supplier relationship. ‘I really appreciate Brandenburch’s flexibility and constructive input,’ says Fred. ‘Whether it’s collecting my order earlier or later, fast production for unexpectedly large orders, or working with us to optimise product quality – Brandenburch is always there for us.’
Fast deliveries during busy peaks
One of the biggest challenges Animeal Factory faces is dealing with unpredictable peaks in orders. Thanks to Brandenburch’s efficient and flexible production capacity, Animeal Factory can respond quickly to these unexpected customer requests.
High-quality fish food
Product quality is important to both Brandenburch and Animeal Factory. ‘When I took over Animeal Factory in 2020, we were still buying feed from other parties. I initially maintained those relationships, but eventually ended them due to the declining quality. For instance, I received mixed products that were not blended as required. Sometimes there were even moths in the packages I received. That is disastrous, you don’t want that. I then switched completely to Brandenburch for the 100% vegetable fish feed. They deliver consistent high quality, with no by-products from other feeds.’’
Animeal Factory is always a few steps ahead; for the future Fred is busy expanding his range. Fish feed is a seasonal product so there are peak sales periods, but also several quieter months. So he regularly sits down with Brandenburch’s experts. To develop plant-based dog and bird feed, for example. This expansion allows Fred to offer his employees year-round work.
